The animal surfaces before she can fully comprehend what he is saying. Her eyes flash, her pupils become jagged. She growls, however with a flash the amulet seals the beast back inside. "You.. you are one of Them?" she asks frightened, the magic cloak shielding her body becoming apparent to all levels of Seeing. "Were you going to hurt me?" Her eyes stand distrusting, her magic whips the leaves at their feet in to a small whirlwind.

Ickaru stopped walking again and turned fully around. "One of who?" Was the first thing to come out of his mouth before he answered her second question. "Truthfully if you hadn't said anything about your animal side, yes, i would have. Stupidly and blindly to boot. But that isn't the case any more seeing as you could easily beat me. I'm one of those unfortunate supernaturals who didn't get anything in the strength department."

"So you are like me in a way. But why must you attack those with the Sight? What do you gain from it?" The beast had died down, it let her speak over its growl, the winds also died down. Her emotions were changing from distressed to curious again. Curiosity had always won out with her before, even the beast wanted to know why he did it. The cloak was not gone but it faded in to the background a bit more, further down the paths of the Sight.

Ickaru pulled the chain that he had around his neck and tucked under his shirt, over his head. He held it out in front of her, showing her the black stone that served as a pendant on his necklace. His was a bit different then normal black stones but it was still just about the same. The only difference to normal black stones was the purple hue in the center of it. "This is what i would gain."

"Pardon, but what is it? What value does it hold? It seems significant and I can feel the very void of Reality contort around it but I cannot feel what it does. My spirit finds it something to be feared, but I also feel that you are not a threat... yet." Her eyes hint that if this turns out to be false, she was ready to go down fighting.

"It's a black stone, It holds a lot of value to those who know what it can do." He slipped it back over his neck and looked back up at her. "I hold the strongest one known in the city. It's entire uses are not known even with my extensive use of it to produce more. I do know that it has something to do with the world of the dead. .... Ever heard of Lady Death?"

"In stories back home yes. However not much, Lady Death was not a frequent topic of conversation. She only came up in tribute rituals.... eep!" she blushes, she knew she had revealed more than she had wanted to. Now he knew of both her abilities and could eventually find ways to compensate for them.

He laughed and pat her on the head. "Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you. So you do know of her then but only a little. Well i can tell you this, she's a pain in the butt. Don't get yourself directly tangled in with her. Your better off just being with one of her helpers instead of being the helper yourself." Ickaru pulled his arm back and gave her a slight smile.

She smiled back. "I never really lead those rituals, so I do not think I should have any problems and I will steer clear of them in the future. So you have a desk job during the day, eh? Which job is more hellish: the cubical or working for Lady Death?" Tessara giggles, her eyes sparkling all fear pretty much vanquished.

"I don't work in a cubical, i have my own office area. Working for Lady Death would be the more hellish job. All i do at my day job is sleep. I can't stay awake when the sun is out." He put his hands back in his pockets. "Like I said Lady Death is a pain the the butt. Especially when your the only one she really relies on. Most others don't even compare to how much trust she has in me."

"Then I will do my best not to get on your bad side. I would hate to have to face her." Tessara's tone and face have turned serious, she means every word she says. "But will you get in trouble for not taking my stone tonight? Lady Death seems like a bad boss to let down."

Ickaru laughed again. "I've already pissed her off more then she would like me to. Threats from her really don't mean much unless she finds another person like me. Lady Death has enough black stones, she just wants to make sure that they don't fall into the wrong hands."

"Ok, then I do not feel so bad that you cannot take my stone then. How rare is your ability? You seem pretty confident that you will not be replaced anytime soon. And what is trying to collect the stones that Lady Death is afraid of? Surely no being would dare to cross her."

"It's pretty rare, I've never met anyone else that was able to do what i can do. As for Lady Death being afraid of the stones getting into the wrong hands, you get enough of the stones i guess they can mess up the world of the dead. Some people can get really greedy."

"But why mess up the world of the dead? It does not seem very worthwhile and efficient. I mean Lady Death has all the time in the world to combat your every move. I mean, altering the realm of the dead for when you die seems pointless and fatalistic. I would rather live my life to the fullest and rest in peace when I died." Tessara takes a good look at Ickaru, his seeming age was at war with the feeling of the age of his soul. His eyes seemed to hold ancient secrets and hold even older sorrows.
