Dawn let put a sigh of relief as the attention was directed away from her. Screw this, she thought as she rushed to the back of the restaurant. She wasn't going to finish her shift at the cost of her anonymity. Anyway, she had been working all day and had no idea what state Xori was in. It was proper time she got back to the apartment to make sure her sister was in proper human form.

Tessara turned her gaze away from the waitress. "Ok I will not cause a scene, but something about her, well not her but something related to her peaked the animal's interest. I am sorry, I will not draw attention to us again. Now what is your favorite dish here?"

"If your really that interested we could go after her, but that is your choice to make. I don't care what happens either way." Ickaru looked down at the menu and skimmed through it. "As for my favorite dish, i would have to say the Baked Talapia."

"Then let's stay and eat the baked tilapia. I do not need to chase her, if I am destined to find out what drew my attention, fate will find a way. Until then I am content to stay here and hang out with you." Tessara smiles, enjoying the moment.

"Okay, as long as that's what you feel like doing." As Ickaru continued to look over the menu the waitress came back after a few minutes to ask if they were ready to order. Ickaru nodded and ordered the baked talapia and handed her the menu.

She places the same order and smiles. "So what originally brought you to the city? Or into Lady Death's employ?"

As the waitress walked off Ickaru looked back at Tessara. "I've always lived in the city, never really liked it anywhere else, so i stayed put." He said avoiding her second question by looking away from her and back out over the ocean.

She noticed that he avoided her second question and chose to ignore it. She smiled, "Then thank the gods I found someone who knows the city so well to show me this city."

Dawn exploded from the back door of the restaurant, her long coat billowing out behind her. A light breeze had picked up, it's invisible fingers sending tendrils of ice across her body. She pulled the collar of her coat up to shield her face from the grasp of the wind, but to no avail; her hair was sent in a flurry, blinding her for a moment. Dawn stopped walking for a moment to get her bearings. So what her parents had said was true. She wasn't the only different person in the city. Sometimes she could catch wisps of unusual thoughts and ideas, but she thought that wasn't especially unusual.
But there was something about that couple that was, well, different. The waves of animal that came off the girl were too similar to what came off Xori. And the man sent chills down her spine. All in all, bad news. Dawn picked up her pace as the thought of Xori; if she hadn't shifted yet, she would be soon. A hollow pit opened up inside of her. She quickly suppressed the feeling. If there was one thing her parents had taught her, it was that you don't show weakness. And now that Dawn knew there were others like her, that was more important than ever.

Tessara looked out across the dark waters of the sea, but something caught her eye. She looked up and saw the moon was almost full. No wonder the animal was surfacing, it was close to the time of the full moon. For an experienced shifter like her, this bore no issue. She was beyond the call of the moon and could control her urges but the scent coming off the waitress had been that of a young shifter. Not the waitress herself but someone close to her. This could be a problem, a rogue shifter in the area was dangerous for all. Especially those who shifted as well, perhaps a tracking spell later tonight would ensure that she could keep an eye out for it and make sure no one got hurt in the process of the youngling's shifts.

Ickaru laughed and leaned back in his chair. It was weird to him how he had been holding this conversation for so long. He never really talked to anyone before, as well as never changing his mind about getting a stone from somebody on top of that. After staring at the table for a bit thinking everything over he looked back up at Tessara.
He noticed a bit of worry on her face and that she seemed to be off in another though of mind. As if her mind was still on that waitress that wasn't a human. Even though the waitress had left, he knew she had all that was left in the restaurant was the feeling of Tessara being there instead of two non humans, something seemed a bit off. "Shall we go then if it's going to be a hassle if we don't?" He asked her, pushing his chair back ready to get up and leave.

"I am sorry, I just cannot focus after seeing her. Something is off, she is covering for another and I fear that if left to their own devices, our secrets may be uncovered. It is not that they mean to, it is just that one of their talents is raw and untrained. The waitress was not a shifter but someone she knows is and they cannot control it. Rogue shifters just make me nervous. I am sorry I have not been very good company tonight, and you were being so nice." Tessara frowns at her own rudeness, allowing worry to distract her from being a decent person and being attentive to her new friend.

He nodded and stood up, fixing the coat he had on. "It is all perfectly fine. I do not mind at all so you have nothing to apologize for. ...You say that she knows a shifter so i wonder what she is then to set off my senses." Ickaru dug into his pocket for his wallet and put a fifty on the table just for the troubles of seating them as well as starting up the food that they ordered, plus drinks. He looked back at Tessara. "Shall we go then? If we can get close enough to where she is, i would be able to pick her up again."

"Lets, I would hate for that rogue shifter to do any damage. It is too close to the full moon, it would not only be terrible but totally cliché. Are you sure I cannot help you pay at all?" she says looking down at the bill on the table.

He gave her a half smile. "I said that it would be my treat, so there for i shall pay for it all." He headed for the exit, the way that they had come in to the restaurant. Back out on the street he looked down to the left and the right before looking through the rest of the city streets he could see from where he was standing.
